What can you do to Build a Better Body?.

I always knew it would happen. I would wake up on morning and decide that I’ve got to get in better shape. Well, it didn’t happen overnight. I have been trying one diet after another and reading everything I can find in looking for the best way to accomplish weight loss and exercise without pills, and in a healthy way.

There must be a way, it can’t be all that difficult. Yet it was. I found myself surrounded by stores that have so much sugar and junk food that it is hard to find real food anymore.

Then I found a plan I thought I could do. It was the Atkins diet. That worked for a while but I could not stay on it an after three months I was not feeling well. I went off of it. Low carbs, low fat, low calories, none of it worked.

Now I found a fitness plan I know will work and one that I know I can live with. It includes plenty of good food and lots of exercise. It is called “Burn the Fat, Feed the muscle.” It does not starve you, it does not give you a “magic pill” and it does not put you on a “diet.”

In fact, I have eaten six meals today. Good fat burning and real food of course. It does not pretend to tell you it will be easy or fast, but it is the only way that really works. I decided I wanted a plan that really works, one that I can stay with and one that I could recommend to others.

This blog is my journal. At the time of writing this post I find myself wondering if this time ….. will I succeed? Will I stick to it? Not many people follow through when they find that they have to get up off of the couch and go for a walk or lift some weights. But once you do start doing this you will start feeling great, and you will not go hungry. You will loose fat, not muscle.

I am 58 years old. I will be 59 this month. It is now or (probably) never for me. Can I really do this? If I put my mind to it I can. I intend to get fit. I have the support of Tom Venuto and the inner circle. I want to be fifty plus and fabulous.!

I will be posting progress reports, articles and my journal on this blog if anyone cares to check in on me.

  1. can’t get to the photos, how come?

LOVE your site, I really do. It’s one of the best put-together sites I’ve seen in a long time!

  2. Yes, you CAN do this. I was a total couch potato, an in-grown chocoholic. Never liked exercises. Worst class at school was phys. ed. even before maths that I loathe!

Within a month, I was hooked on weight training. A few months later, when spring came, I hit the streets at 5:30 am walking for 45 minutes 6 days a week, and loving the fresh air, the chirping birds, even ran into some deer one morning (in a residential area, pretty cool).

Food … well, I’d transitted via Atkins too, but much preferred Fit For Life which was all about Natural Hygiene nutrition. I made that my lifestyle for 3 years, and had the best health ever, but no muscle tone!

“Life happened” and I got to 205 lbs and 43% bodyfat.

On my own, with the help of a lot of health-books- based-on-foods that I had, I got down to 189 lbs and 38% fat. Then I found Tom Venuto’s BFFM e-book and made my first ever on-line purchase of my first ever training book!

True, there’s a lot on mind set and nutrition in the book, but the real novelty for me was the training part!

Within 6 months I was down to 150 lbs and 15% fat.

    Age 46 (at the time)

I now have a full gym on the ground floor of my home, wrote a book a year ago (have a second one in my head now), have an on-line training site, and totally hooked on a healthy and fit lifestyle!
